Our home's environment isn't simply the structure of walls and rooms but rather spaces that reflect our personal style, nurture our inner needs and provide a sense of belonging and connection. The energy we create through our design decisions, and the pieces we select are an important process for our happiness and creativity. They are foundations for the heart that help us stay centered and alleviate stress.
Every time you walk through your front door, it should say 'Welcome.' This concept is about creating spaces that feel warm, nurturing and comfortable. Simply put, your space should reflect your heart, your soul and welcome you home with ease.
Cozy is synonymous with this time of year – whether it relates to fashion, food or interior design, cozy is on everyone's mind. It's a beautiful plaid scarf, warm knit sweater and patterned wool socks. It's the aroma of homemade cookies, all the fixings for a big pot of beef stew, and a warm, soothing hot beverage. It's a leather chair draped with a textured throw, a basket full of kindling wood near the fireplace, and a thick wool rug that's soothing for bare feet.
It doesn't have to be perfect to be perfect for you. In 2007 Johnny and I toured our current home, a two-story view condo built in 1976 – a coveted end unit in the Cherokee Bluff community I had found online. It wasn't perfect and we knew it required improvements and maintenance updates, but we could visualize our casual, eclectic style in the space.
As I bid a heart-felt farewell to the sales floor, I'm excited to embark on a new partnership with Bliss Home, and the start of an incredible journey. I invite you to join this journey as I share these conversations meant to encourage, motivate and inspire. I'll share design elements to create warmth, harmony and beauty, in every room.
Welcome to a series of thoughtful conversations that are guided from my heart, and feature content that speaks to all things centered around the Home: things that are beautiful, things that inspire, and things that make me happy. Each conversation will express something I want to share concerning a number of lifestyle topics, including home and entertaining, classic design style and current trends, growth and healing, and those little things that change our perception and feed our soul.
